Di Akhir KTT Ke XII ASEAN

Pemimpin Negara-negara ASEAN Tandatangani 4 Deklarasi

Cebu: Usai pertemuan KTT ASEAN yang berlangsung sejak pagi hingga pukul 14.00, Presiden SBY bersama para Kepala Negara/Pemerintahan negara – negara anggota ASEAN lainnya, menyaksikan acara penandatanganan Declaration on the Deposit of the Instrument of Accession of France to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, yang berlangsung di Mactan Ballroom Shangri-La Mactan Cebu, Sabtu sore ( 13/01).

Dokumen lain yang penandatanganannya disaksikan oleh 10 pemimpin negara ASEAN tersebut adalah Instrument of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation by the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, dan Instrument of Extension of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia by the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste.

Kesepuluh Kepala Negara/Pemerintahan itu juga menandatangani 4 deklarasi, masing-masing Cebu Declaration Towards a Caring and Sharing Community, Cebu Declaration on the Blueprint for the ASEAN Charter, Cebu Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers, dan Cebu Declaration on the Acceleration of the Establishment of an ASEAN Community by 2015. Sedangkan satu konvensi yang ditandatangani adalah ASEAN Convention / Declaration on Counter Terorism.

Kemudian Presiden SBY dan para Kepala Negara/Pemerintahan ASEAN lainnya menerima buku “Southeast Asia in Search of an ASEAN Community“ yang ditulis oleh mantan Sekjen ASEAN, Rodolfo C. Severino. ( nnf )
