REMARKS BY PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AT A LUNCHEON OF
THE 2ND BALI DEMOCRACY FORUM
HOTEL GRAND HYATT, NUSA DUA, BALI

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabakatuh,
Om swastiastu,
Peace be upon us,
Your Majesty,
Excellencies, Distinguesed Delegates and Friends,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to once again express how delighted we are to have you with us in Bali for the 2nd Bali Democracy Forum.
Your presence and participation means a great deal to me, to the people of Bali and to Indonesia. The Bali Democracy Forum process command last year to promote democracy and to enchance capacity, to strengthen democratic institution in Asia.
Although it is only its second year, in its second year, I am optimistic that the Bali Democracy Forum will continue to grow and become the leading forum for democacy in Asia. We have all these year and increase this year in the numbers of participating countries from 32 to 36 this year. The numbers of observers have also increased from 8 last year to 12 this year.
We have had a very good discussion today and it is now time for us take a moment to unwind in our luncheon. As a matter of principle, it is not my intension to burden you with more speech as you will hear lots more of it after our lunch.
But I do hope, that during your stay here you will still have time to enjoy Bali with its beautiful beaches, illustrious views, friendly people and its differs and astonishing culture. Please enjoy your meal. And once again thank you for being with us and for honouring us with your presence.
